The tour starts and ends at our street side parking beside the historic Steam ship terminal at 470 Belleville St. We ask that passengers arrive 30 minutes before the start of your tour time. The tour lasts about 2.5 hours and we make 3 stops at iconic Victoria pubs, the final stop being just steps away from our street side parking location.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need 15 people to rent the bike?

Absolutely not! Purchase single seats and we will match you with other smaller groups to ensure that the tour reaches the minimum number of 10.

Can we drink on board?

No alcohol is allowed on the rolling barrel. The tour is a dry, active bicycle. However plenty of bars and restaurants are located along tour routes, where passengers can stop off to enjoy both alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks of their choice – as well support our local businesses!

Can we pickup/drop off passengers mid-way through the tour?

We ask that the group start and end together, as we spend 10-15 minutes prior to departure going over the rules, expectations, safety and answering any questions that arise. We also require that each passenger sign a liability waiver prior to boarding the vehicle. However, for private charters we may be able to accommodate special requests from time to time with advance notice.

What should I bring on the tour?

You will need two pieces of ID to get drinks at the pub stops and this is Victoria – the weather is unpredictable so dress appropriately although you will work up a little sweat peddling!

We have storage on the bike and can store most small items that you may want to take with you on our tour.

Due to the nature of the tour we cannot allow peddlers to wear sandal because it’s a safety hazard- Lance Armstrong never wore sandals on a bike and neither should you.

Does the tour have music?

Yes! Please let your drivers know the type of music you like and they will accommodate you as best they can.

Will the tour still happen if it rains?

Yes. The Bike is covered by a roof that keeps our passengers fairly dry. In extreme weather we reserve the right to cancel tours for safety reasons, but otherwise our tours roll on rain or shine!

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancellation Policy – Any cancellations more than 3 days in advance will receive a full refund. If you cancel less than 3 days in advance, there will be no refund or rain check for your payment. All rides are required to be paid in full at the time of booking.

***IMPORTANT***

If we are not able to book a MINIMUM OF 8 SEATS – the bike will not go
out (for physical reasons of pedaling the bike). We will contact you if there are less than 10 seats booked for your time slot! If a ride has to cancel due to this minimum, we will refund your payment if we are unable to reschedule your reservation.

How fast does the tour bike go?

The bike averages speeds of 5 to 8 kilometers per hour max

Is the bike tour safe? Are bike helmets required?

Yes, — very few minor injuries have occurred on this bike operating in any city. Your guide will do everything possible to provide a safe environment. However, just like riding any bike, there is some risk of danger and possibly falling off — especially if you’re not careful or are behaving irresponsibly while on board. We offer bike helmets, but they are not required to ride.

Are there age and height requirements?

Passengers must be at least 19 years old to ride, and must sign our waiver form to board the Social Cycle. Pedaling passengers should ideally be at least 5’ / 153cm tall to be able to comfortably reach the pedals. Shorter passengers are still welcome to ride but are encouraged to take a bench seat.

Should I tip my Captain?

Tipping isn’t required, but your “captain” greatly appreciates any gratuity. Standard etiquette suggests that tipping ranges between 15 and 20 percent, but please feel free to use your own judgment based on your overall experience.

How difficult is peddling?

The more people pedaling, the easier it is, but it can be a workout at times! We do approach slight inclines that require effort on everyone’s part, but the coast that follows sure makes up for it!

Pedal, Laugh, Drink, Repeat.

It’s all you really need to know.
